'duplicate' command for wizards...duplicates an item (keys especially)

What an interesting idea. I'll look into it.
How to duplicate:, acius, 2003-09-19 00:08:39
* Figure out what the blueprint of the object is
* Figure out what file the object is loading from (flist /secure/odin, it's there somewhere -- the stat gives the file name at the top, so figure out what it does)
* Make a clone from the blueprint
* On the clone, call load_template, giving the filename of the old object's data file.

By the way, the craft command is already capable of duplicating keys, even a player can do it -- they just need to have the key...

Moving this to a todo list, it shouldn't be hard to pull off.
considering I had a key duplicated..., zaecus, 2005-05-31 20:57:07
Was this pulled off, or was it as complex as this makes it look like it must've been back when this was started?

I think they could still use a command, but it is likely simpler than it was before.

I think what you mean to say is that you had a missing key replaced. A duplicate command would create a copy of an existing object that a wizard can actually pick up and such.
