command::identify I find it very frustrating to have to pick items by number instead of bylocation. Perhaps an identify command to show onthe map where the first/second/third/whatever is?

This is basically the function of the 'mapkey' command, except that it does not identify first/second.
I'm considering this a feature request (it's a good idea) and moving it to a TODO forum.

Just noticed, gpfault, 2005-02-08 15:55:08
the designation of "first/second/third" whatever is indicated by WHERE on the key a given item is listed.
A stone
B stone
"take second stone" would, for example take what is referenced by "B"

We do *partly* have this, acius, 2005-02-17 17:27:14
Have you played with nearest and furthest? You might also want to try 'second nearest' and 'second furthest' ;-).
