It does... and it doesn't.

Right now, my math -still- doesn't actually use the magic.spell skills - for some odd reason. I don't know why I haven't done it yet, but don't worry about it too much, when the system starts actually using them, I'll make sure that it automatically gives you the skill and converts your casting count over. Sigh.

New Skill tree doesn't have spell skills, so is the new spell skills missing a bug, or is this thread now obsolete (and never fixed)

It was not a bug that you did not receive the skill, and no, this is not an obsolete concern.

Spell skills are actually nearing the point when they will be implemented. However, I am still debating a few aspects of their behavior.

The new tree has space for these skills under magic.spell.*, and also has room for special clerical magic under magic.faith.prayer.*.

The new skillme system will give you those skills whenever they are implemented - which thing is waiting for me to re-write all of the spell objects to use the new technique skills more effectively.

Lots of little changes need to happen to magic, and will probably be happening in the near future.
