It's still the door attached to your cottage, regardless of which side you're standing on... It is, after all, the same door.

It depends on which side of the door you are on.
Picture a house (a cottage if you will) with a front room and a back room, and a door between them.
If you are in the back room, then the door is the door to the front room, but if you are in the front room, then the door is the door to the front room.
