A "safety deposit box" storage building, where players can leave stuff. Charge a small fee for the use of a box, and give players keys. Additional keys might be produced for a price. Players can work out ways to trade stuff with each other safely this way, without having to be logged in at the same time.

Needs buildings, acius, 2003-01-18 17:13:44
This idea should be revived as soon as we have working buildings and smarter NPC's.
half done?, zaecus, 2005-06-11 22:25:23
Dunno about smarter NPCs, but buildings work. I was actually about to suggest something like this after my inventory got wiped for some reason. The idea being to have some sort of locker where you can store a spare set of equipment, spare keys, etc, and tie it in to an account...
Oh, right, guess you'd need to actually have banks working. *boggle* Probably what you meant by smarter NPCs. my bad.
Still, since this is 2 years old, saying I look forward to it someday.

Build your own shack and get it locked. :P
not satisfactory, zaecus, 2005-08-08 17:46:00
Stay offline long enough for your inv bubble to get deleted, and you need an admin to let you into that locked shack.
My interest in this has always been for players to have a way of stashing equipment in the event of death or vacation so that they do not have to have a key or cash actually on them to get a replacement set of eq.
"Ah, yes, Master Zaecus. Please, sign here. Here are the items you left with us, and your account will be billed the amount of 2500 candles at the close of business today."
