news
I've started work on the new site (as you can probably see). I'll be keeping a dev blog in the first subsection here. Hopefully I'll have something to say two or three times a week until I've reached enough functionality to allow people to log in and start monkeying with things themselves.
This is the tentative new design for the SIMud web page. I am going to attempt to maintain a high degree of consistency, so the whole place looks like it belongs together. Forums, wiki/codex, help files, and a new bug tracking system should all play happy and nice together here.
I'm wanting to do something about all of the flat colours here, perhaps make an actual artist take 3 seconds to look at it... we'll see. Either way, next week, I hope to be adding some rudimentary dynamic content back.
Walraven/SIMud is in a transitional stage right now. We've switched the lib's development (and game's home) to another - hopefully more reliable - server.
The game is running on tiffany.simud.org 4242.
The old mud.simud.org alias will be updated to point there soon.
Unfortunately, none of the admin have the time or will power to bring the web site and forums up any time soon. This is side-effect of our tight integration between the game and the web page.
I am currently working on a new web page that will integrate the forums, help system, codex, and mudmail much more happily... and which will be accessible if the game server goes down. There is no eta for this, but I'd like to think I will be able to have a skeleton in place for the mud's 12th birthday (July 15th, 2008). Of course, I can make no promises ;(
Until the new site starts to take over features that were available on the old site, I will probably be setting up a temporary forum solution. Further updates will all be made via in-game news (or you can chase me down and ask me via IM).
